At 7:00 PM the 669th regular meeting of the Hope Rod and Gun Club was called to order by President Downs.
The minutes of the June meeting were not available and were approved as remembered.
Membership: At this time, we have 299 members with 1 membership available.
At the Sept meeting the Bow Contest sign up will begain.
Buildings and Grounds: With the water runoff due to the recent heavy rains the spent shot wads are washing off of our property – we need to work to contain and recycle this before it creates an environmental issue.
The McFarland School Board did not approve the purchase of the McFarland land that is to the east of the Gun Club. The Board will explore the possibilities to purchase this land to save the Skeet Range.
Shooting Committee: The Green birds are no longer available from our supplier, so Butch has purchased Orange birds to be used. The shooting committee wishes to apologize for an error that was not caught when the schedule was published having a non- existent team scheduled for the work night. (a possible decrease in our wages may be appropriate punishment). There was some discussion about the planting of trees on top of the berm, more to follow.
Raffle: 2000 tickets printed, sales are very good. The drawing will be held Aug 22nd At 4:00 PM after the Mark Mark shoot. The Youth Group has done a great job in selling tickets.
Old: The annexation into the Village of McFarland is now complete. Thank you to all the efforts over the past few years to make this happen. President Downs is working with the Village on changes in ordinances and has a meeting scheduled with the Building Inspector, Police Chief and Fire Chief to make sure that we are in compliance.
Mark Mark Chicken shoot scheduled for Aug 22nd.
New: A Thank you letter was received from Lexi Richardson for receiving the Hope Scholarship.
