The 617th regular meeting of the Hope Road and Gun club was called to order @ 7:00pm by President Downs.
Minutes of the last meeting were read, hearing no objections or correction the munites were approved as read.
Treasures report was read and approved
Committee reports: Hunting and Fishing – Russ Jenkins gave a report on the fishing activity on area lakes and reported that the spring turkey contest was won by Tom Nelson.
Buildings and Grounds – Information was provided about repairs needed on the road. Berm is complete and as soon as heavy equipment is removed , crushed asphalt to be delivered, graded and packed. Motion was made by Mike Mann and 2nd by Mark Dietz to approve $3000.00 for repairs – motion passed by voice vote.
There was also discussion to seed the west side of the berm no that it is complete.
Shooting Committee: Congrats to all the first ½ winners.
Discussion lead by Rick Kratchaval to have the shooting committee and those running the respective nights league shoots to meet and discuss having the shooting fee’s paid prior to league start and paid in full for the entire year. This is creating a burden on these people. – meeting to be forth coming.
There is an add placed in the Mcfarland Thistle as well as a nice article about the up-coming Mark Mark Chicken Shoot.
Old Business – Thank You to Larry Droes for donating clocks to the clubhouse. And Myles Bible for the new gun Rack.
Chicken Shoot – 100 chickens purchased, Posters available to distribute. Youth Group to handle the food, Help needed to run the shoot – 8:00 am set-up. Guns will be on display and ticket sales available.
RSO Vests – John Thomas is providing the vests at a very reasonable cost – also tee shirts, camo and blaze hats will be available on consignment to the Club – To Purchase a tee shirt the cost will be $10.00 – Thank you to George Rassmusson also.
New Business: Tom Nelson leada discussion about building the Rifle Range Baffle – which can be used as a storage area when the range is not busy. The Board Of Directors approved Toms request and a motion was made to fund approx. $1500.00 for this project. Motion passed on voice vote and Tom suggested that we try to complete prior to Rifle sight in Days.
Hunter Safety dates – Nov 5,6 and 12,13 at 7:00 pm. More discussion to follow.
Club Picnic Sunday 8/28 – Please bring a dish to pass –
75 bird shoot – 1st 50 must be shot prior to noon, A, B, C Divisions as well as youth and Ladies shoots, and fun shoots afterwords.
Jeff Krisher lead a discussion on screening to block the shadows on the trap field, He is also going to test different colored Targets, and report back.
The Board approved a $20.00 expenditure to the American Legion and $100.00 to the Mcfarland Police Dept for the K-9 fund raiser.
Calendar update – Friday 7/15 and 9-1 Range is closed for hunter Safety. 7/25 Mark-Mark Shoot and Raffle dDrawing.
8/14 = member reserved the club.
8/28 – club Picnic.
