June 2017 Meeting Minutes​
The 628th meeting of the Hope Rod and Gun Club was called to order at 7:02 PM by President Tom Downs.  There were 36 members present. 

Secretaries Report:  Secretary Miller read the May 1, 2017 (627th) meeting minutes.  Hearing no other additions or corrections, they were approved as read.

Treasurers Report:  Treasurer Birrenkott presented the members with the May treasure information.  Details not available online.

New Members: The following 4 new members were approved as new members they are Eric Mueller, Dallas Mayne, John Solon and Matt Tiedt.

Members Director:  Membership Director Russ Jenkins reported that as to the date of this meeting is 300 members are on the membership list of which 40 are new members, 38 members have been removed from the membership for not having their dues paid.

Committee Reports:
Building and Grounds:  President Downs reported that Spahn was going to be spreading the black dirt pile on the top of the berm.   He also reported he had met with the City of Madison Forrester for feedback on what types of trees would be best to plant on the berm and where.

Trap League: Trap reported the Thursday night schedule is in need of adjustment as the practice team was entered into the shooting schedule and the work schedule.  Discussion was also to include if the 9pm team can shoot early as they are shooting solo.  Sgt. of Arms Jeremiah Dollar will contact Directors Job and Mann.

Also, a reminder to all members that Monday afternoons from 3pm to 9 pm skeet will be going on and all are invited to participate.  A BIG Reminder that pistol range and area west of Skeet trap is closed during skeet and the chain gates should be up during skeet.

Hunting and Fishing:   Russ reported you can find crappies on Mendota in 12’ of water, Monona and Waubesa are slowing down with Crappies and Gills, Keagonsa is producing walleyes and perch.  Dick Larson won the Spring Turkey Contest with a score of 76.5 and he was awarded $55.00.  DNR is looking for Deer population estimators see Tom for more details.

Raffle:  Vice President Mark Hanson reported the club and youth clay busters raffle tickets are available at the meeting and on league nights at the club.  All members are encouraged to try to sell 10 tickets each.  The guns were selected at Cabela’s, we do not take ownership the guns. THIS IS THE TIME TO PUSH TICKET SALES. The drawing will be at the Mark Mark Memorial Chicken shoot on July 22, 2017 at 4pm.

Old Business:  Reminder Hunter Safety is scheduled for July 10 thru 14.  Sign up online.

New Business:  The club received a Thank You from Riley Ramos who received the scholarship.

VP Mark Hanson reported that he donated a pink guitar for a raffle to Justice for a Cure in the name of Hope Rod and Gun Club.  Thank You Mark for your kind gesture.

President Tom Downs reported that the pistol range is receiving some errant shooting.

 DO NOT SHOOT DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE TARGET RANGE.

50/50 Winner: Gary Wipperfurth won the 50/50.

A motion to adjourn was made at 7:31PM by Frank W. and seconded by Randy Vike, the motion passed on a voice vote.
