January 9 th meeting
623 meeting called to order by President Downs @7:00 pm.
Secretary's Report from November read and it was noted that the December meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm and adjourned at 7:01 (Christmas party) – report (s) approved as read.
New Members : 52 paid as of 1/9/2017 – 3 new members. Adrian Mecum, Robert Mecum and Daniel Knettle
We are at max of 300 members at this time.
Committee Reports: $129.00 in the pot for the Big Buck Contest. – All entries must be submitted at the February Meeting or forfeit your chance to win. Fishing – Pike being caught on Mendota and Yahara River. Lake Mason is the hot spot, Gills being caught on the Bay.
Buildings and Grounds: There are several logs on the south side of the Berm that need to be removed- if you want wood, please help us get rid of this. – A couple of cherry trees were cut down and that wood will be used for millwork.
TRAP LEAGUE CHANGES: Team Sign-up sheets are available at the meetings and will be available on the web-site shortly. These MUST be filled out by all teams (with the shooters in the order you want them) or you will not be added to the schedule. The Shooting Committee met prior to the meeting to discuss options to streamline the collection of shooting fees.
Mike Mann and Doug Job presented the following decisions made by the Shooting Committee:
- Each team must complete a Team Registration Form and pay in full prior by April 3 rd (last meeting before trap
shooting league begins). The Team Registration Form and full payment may be mailed to Hope Rod and Gun Club, PO Box 142 McFarland, WI 53558 or dropped off at the February 6 th , March 6 th or April 3rd monthly meeting.
In order to eliminate the burden from the bartenders we are asking that when your Team signup sheet is turned in that you include full payment $100.00 per shooter. Payment and signup sheets MUST be turned in by the April 3 rd Meeting. Payments and sign up sheet can be turned in at the meetings or mailed to Hope Rod and Gun Club PO box 142 McFarland, Wi. 53558
Old Business: March Dinner to be held march 6 th – Tickets are $50.00 each for a Prime Rib Dinner, Raffles and prizes. – more details to follow at February Meeting.
Wireless voice speakers were approved and will be installed prior to trap league starting date of May 2.
NEW Business: Motion to purchase $6000.00 in shotgun shells made by Scott Wagner and 2 nd by Jay Dollar – Motion passed on voice vote.
Calendar update – If you would like to reserve the club for a private function please let Tom Downs know as soon as possible.
